Despite the looming threat, Emi can't escape her greatest distraction: Shiro, the fox yokai who has so deftly claimed her heart for his own. Soon—too soon—she will have to break the curse that binds his magic and memories. And once the ancient power inside him awakens, the yokai she loves will be changed forever. Together, they will find a way to save her world—even if it means losing each other. THE REVIEW: ** Since this is the LAST book to the Red Winter trilogy, please check out my spoiler-free book reviews of the following: Book 1 - Red Winter Book 2 - Dark Tempest ** Emi and her group are up against the Heavenly Gods and Goddess. Emotions are running high, as our female main character is starting to doubt herself as a human and a kamigakari. Oh my goodness! This conclusion just took my breath away. It is everything that I've envisioned: action-packed scenes that really left me at the edge of my seat (or in my case, bed). You thought that you'll be able to predict the whole book, but there are a lot of twists and turns. Once again, I salute Ms. Marie for the well-written trilogy that gave me a major book hang-over. This is one of my handful of favorite trilogies that I'll be keep on reading over and over again. It is simple yet so well stitched together, focusing more on the story and character developments. Let's not forget the ever beautiful illustrations from Brittany "Bea" Jackson. They are absolutely stunning and fit right in. RATING: 5 out 5 stars
WHY IS THIS NOT IN MAINSTREAM??? I refuse to accept that this trilogy is underrated! Guys, I highly, HIGHLY RECOMMEND this. You need to pick this put, RIGHT NOW! Because the story has a right amount of comedy, romance, and action.
