SYNOPSIS (FROM GOODREADS): Talking to other people isn't Kate Bailey's favorite activity. She'd much rather be out on the lake, soaking up the solitude and sunshine. So when her best friend, Alana, convinces Kate to join their high school's podcast, Kate is not expecting to be chosen as the host. Now she'll have to answer calls and give advice on the air? Impossible. But to Kate's surprise, she turns out to be pretty good at the hosting gig. Then the podcast gets in a call from an anonymous guy, asking for advice about his unnamed crush. Kate is pretty sure that the caller is gorgeous Diego Martinez, and even surer that the girl in question is Alana. Kate is excited for her friend ... until Kate herself starts to develop feelings for Diego. Suddenly, Kate finds that while doling out wisdom to others may be easy, asking for help is tougher than it looks, and following your own advice is even harder. Kasie West's adorable story of secrets, love, and friendship is sure to win over hearts everywhere. THE REVIEW: *This is a spoiler-free review. Every thoughts, feelings and opinions about this review is solely MINE.* The novel is about a junior named Kate who lives near the lake and her family owns a marina. At the beginning, she had already set her mind of running their family business right after college and does not understand why her parents are still pushing her to explore other things. Now that the school has started, Kate was forced by her best friend to join Podcast class. Though she is not interested, she somehow got involved and things seem to be getting interesting. I love Kasie West and this new novel is a roller-coaster ride for me. I love that Ms. West tackles another teen issues like looking forward to their future. This novel covers that while we have the things that we love to do and knows we ended up owning and running things, we are let reminded that we have our own decisions to make. We are allowed to explore beyond our comfort zone, and this is what Kate was subjected into. She hates being in her Podcast class and was not really comfortable and thrilled with her Podcast teacher because she assigned her to do a job that she would like to give to her best friend instead. I can actually relate to our main character, Kate. Being in your comfort zone feels secure and at peace with nothing to worry about as the routine is the same everyday. We fear going out of our comfort zone because we do not like people seeing our weaknesses and do not know what to do when dealing with unfamiliar problems. As for the romance side, it was predictable for me. But Ms. West decided to play with my mind because of course she would not let us, readers, know who is the mystery guy. Actually, she just wants us to be confused which in my opinion, works. RATING: 4 out of 5 stars
If you are looking for a light, summer-y romantic read then I highly suggest this book! Not only it got romance, it also talks about another teen issue: choosing the path that you like, going out of your comfort zone and discover yourself.

This definitely sounds like a fun summer read :) I think so many people put pressure on themselves these days because they feel like they have to be good at everything. You can try something new and love it, regardless of how good you are at it when you start. You can only get better! Great review :)
