So my favorite YA contemporary author Kasie West has released her third novel for 2017.
And this is my most anticipated December read. I have fell in love with Ms. West books since I first read her novel, The Fill-in Boyfriend a few years ago. I love her writing style: clean and truly makes you not want to put the book down. She never fails to give the readers a kilig factor - a person experiencing an exhilaration feeling.
Love, Life and the List is the latest book from Ms. West.
This story is about Abby, an upcoming senior student on her summer vacation. She has a lot in her plate: wanting to pursue her career as an artist, dealing with some "unspoken" family issues and spending her time with her guy best friend Coop. I'm trying NOT to give anything away (spoilers).
Ms. West tackles not only the romantic story of her main characters but also gave us, her readers, a background about her protagonist. Something that makes that character more human - in dealing with things like family issues. Though at the end of the story, we were left to guess what happened as it was mainly focused on the 2 main characters' outcome.
I find the first part of the novel, boring, slow and predictable. But, you can never tell when Ms. West will hit your heart! I was a bit teary while reading the conclusion part.
The verdict?
Even if the first part of the story was slow, I will still give a rating of... 5 out of 5 stars Have you read Love, Life and the List? Comment down below because I love to read what are your thoughts about this book.
