Hey everyone! Finally, here's another mash-up book review from my favorite independent author. So let me take you into the world of Spell Weavers. SERIES: Book 1 of Spell Weaver trilogy **For the synopsis of the book, click here. **BONUS! Read the first 4 chapters here. THE REVIEW: This novel is about a young nymph named Clio, who was sent to live in exile on the Earth realm because of her extra ordinary gift. In order to get back into her own realm, she is tasks to steal the most dangerous Spell Weaver by conning her way into the Underworld. If the task was not enough dangerous, she came face-to-face with an alluring incubus Lyre, who is also a skilled spell weaver. Things did get complicated but Clio must her mission, her ticket to go home. The author has never failed to make me excited about reading her works! According to some readers, this trilogy is the prequel to her Steel & Stone series (which I have yet included in my ever-growing TBR). This first book from her Spell Weaver trilogy had me exhilarating from the moment I start reading it. The story is funny, captivating, full of action and magic that I will not be surprise if this get a TV or movie adaptation. Clio, our main character, is a determined nymph who wants to finish her mission as she longs to go home (to her realm). Lyre, our sexy incubus, just wants to prove that he is better than his father and brothers. Each characters are unique, with a mysterious background that makes them strong and compliment one another. That is why I love the story plot! Annette Marie has balance her characters with a great plot and makes you want to dive to the next book. RATING: 5 out of 5 stars If you are looking for a refreshing YA urban fantasy series, then I highly recommend this book. This is full of magic, action, witty banter, and endless flirting (I smell romance in the air, mind you). It will definitely send you to the edge of your seat (or your bed). AUTHOR: Annette Marie DATE RELEASED: January 12, 2018 PUBLISHED BY: Dark Owl Fantasy Inc. SERIES: Book 2 of Spell Weaver trilogy **For the synopsis of the book, click here. **BONUS! Read the first 4 chapters here. THE REVIEW: In the second book of Spell Weaver trilogy, Clio and Lyre had barely escape the Underworld. They are now on the run and also on the hunt to find a catastrophically dangerous magic, that Lyre created but Clio sort of stole it. They need to find it first before Lyre's family get it. Things get more interested because Clio may or may not be attracted to an incubus. A certain incubus by the name of Lyre. The action-pack adventures continues where book 1 (The Night Realm) left off. Unlike most series, this novel gives you an overview of the previous one. It is smooth-flowing with characters engaging with one another. Plot is so mesmerizing that it is difficult to put it down. Here, readers can now see romance is blooming between Clio and Lyre; and the awkwardness between them. But this does not affect their mission to find Lyre's magic "creation" or "weapon". In fact, I like how their teamwork is synchronized for Clio, Lyre and Ash (another character from the first book) to subdue those who are after them and the weapon. I like how everything is so balance (do Annette Marie practices taoism?), even though that Clio is the main character of the trilogy, readers will feel and understand Lyre's and Ash's POV (point of view). Again, big compliments to the author for creating this magical realm and story that was so enchanting and full of information (without sacrificing the quality and flow of the story). RATING: 5 out of 5 stars Again, if you are searching for a good YA urban fantasy series, I highly HIGHLY recommend this trilogy. Action, magic, comedy and romance are all rolled into an amazing adventure story that you will surely crave for more. AUTHOR: Annette Marie DATE RELEASED: March 30, 2018 PUBLISHED BY: Dark Owl Fantasy Inc. SERIES: Book 3 (last book) of Spell Weaver trilogy **For the synopsis of the book, click here. **BONUS! Read the first 4 chapters here. THE REVIEW: The finally book to Spell Weaver trilogy. As Clio and Lyre race against time to stop Clio's half-brother in using Lyre's magic weapon, they must unleash all magic they got as they are being hunted by not the mercenaries but Lyre's father - the most menacing and most lethal weaver of all three realms. As the final book of Spell Weaver trilogy, the story became fast-paced with never-ending action-packed adventure of going to the realm of the nymphs. The unlikely friendship bloom between the hunter (Ash as hired mercenary) and the hunted (Lyre), as they slowly begin to trust each other. As usual, Annette Marie wrote the most epic (magic) adventure, even if the novel is fast-paced, it still flow perfectly around our beloved characters (did I mention that I love the author's writing style?). To be honest, I thought this book will be a cliffhanger because of the arrival of Lyre's father, Lyceus. How about the electrifying romance between Clio and Lyre? Well, this is where I was a bit disappointed as it was not much the highlight of the story. Please do not get me wrong! It is refreshing to read something that does not involve HEAVY sexual attraction (it is subtly). Annette Marie actually made the readers to focus more on the adventure, as it is the main plot of the story after all. I was relief that there is still witty banter, humor and a little bit of flirting to lighten up the mood of the novel. See? There is still BALANCE. I love this trilogy so much! RATING: 5 out of 5 stars
This is my honest review of the whole trilogy. The second Annette Marie's trilogy that I read (the first trilogy where I fell in love with the author is her Red Winter [click here to read my reviews for each 1, 2, 3]) and I was not disappointed at all! I cannot wait to dive in to her Steel & Stone series (the accompany series to the Spell Weaver trilogy). Again, I highly recommend this to those who are into YA urban fantasy series. I also recommend to those who are looking for light read (I promise that you will not be able to put the book down!).
