THE REVIEW:
>> Check out my review on Truthwitch (Book 1 of The Witchlands series) here << The sequel to the first book, Truthwitch. The novel took off after the explosion of Prince Merik Nihar's ship having everyone believed that he died in the explosion. In addition to the chaos, Iseult and Safi got seperated. Safi was captured by the Empress of Marstok, while Iseult hunt down the bloodwitch, Aeduan and form an unlikely partnership. The second book has different points of view by different characters, narrating events that interconnected to one another. It mainly focuses on the crown prince Merik and his journey to discover betrayal and the uprising threat. We were introduced to him in the first book, and in this sequel we got to see how his character developed. As much as I am excited for this sequel, I was a bit disappointed. The pacing of the story is very slow, especially with Prince Merik’s character development. I understand that this is his story but the background description or his back story was very much narrated by another character: Merik’s sister, Vivia. I felt that all throughout the story, I can only “hear” Vivia’s POV.
RATING: 4 out of 5 stars
Over all, the sequel is great! So much action with a surprising turn of events. Highly recommend this series, especially if you are looking for an action-pack, fast-paced YA fantasy with a bit of romance.

THE REVIEW:
This novel tells about 2 strangers on a fateful day in December, saw each other from a far and knew that they are destined to be together. They thought that they will not see each other again, but after a year they finally met... Under a very complicated circumstance. What are the chances that you will find love on Christmas season? I got to read this before December ends and the setting is perfect! Missed opportunities, regrets, and second chances are the themes that you will be encountering as you read. I like how the story progress that help the characters to develop, being able to each each of their POV.
RATING: 4 out of 5 stars
A contemporary romance that is easy to read and perfect to those who loves Sophie Kinsella. For hopeless romantic like me, this is a great holiday romance read.
